Some products I have recently added to my daily routine and the difference I notice.

I add supplements one at a time because I am in tuned enough with my body to know what works and what doesn't, if they make me feel sick or better!

In the past few weeks I added Greens and I recommend them for a few reasons. First of all it is 8 servings of fruits and veggies in each serving, second while it has a citrus smell, it has little taste. I add mine to 8 ozof water. Third...it alkalizes your system enabling you to fight colds and disease. Fourth...I am less hungry using it! I Find I am no longer thinking about my next meal while I am still eating the one before.



Then I tried Ultimate Thermo Fit

I liked that it had no after taste and it didn't give me the shakes like most thermogenics do.
I wasn't thinking about the fact that because I am in a stage of menopause it brought my hot flashes back. So I only took it for a few days. I recommend this for men or women not in menopause. I have used many thermogenic products over the years and most will make you shaky and even give you stress headaches, this does not do that. It will speed up your metabolism, giving you more energy and assisting in weight loss.

I added Fat Fighters to my regime a few days ago.
So far I love this product. No after taste and you can carry themwith you and take them up to an hour after a meal. They block a percentage of fat and carbs from your meals from being processed into your system. Because of this they also help balance blood sugar. One thing I notice is I am going to the bathroom a bit more....cleaning your body of toxins is a good thing!

Network Marketing

I've been involved with several network marketing companies in my life and I love that type of sales for many reasons. First of all if you aren't helping others you don't succeed! I know that some people don't understand the concept, they call it a pyramid scheme (frankly working any job where you cannot promote past your boss if you have the drive and desire to work harder and smarter is what I call a pyramid!) With network marketing you can do better than the person who recruits you and then some!

I love being involved with It Works! Global for many reasons. Their products are fabulous and their pay plan is terrific. I have never sold anything this easy to sell! People buy my samples right out of my purse in public all the time. With other companies you are giving samples away or investing in products for them to try and the only form of payment to you as a distributor is when they place an order.

I haven't hit the first pay period of being in this business and I have sold 14 wraps, gotten 120.00 bonus in products and also rewards that allow me to buy more product for less.  (didn't have to wait to get a bonus after I jumped through hoops and reached a certain level of criteria and then wait again until the pay period)
I have never seen a company that allows you to make money immediately like this! So this makes it easier for those coming into this business who don't have any income currently.

Why Be Healthy

A wonderful woman in my life didn't eat right, smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day and lived on Diet Caffeine Free Pepsi....she never drank water.
As I watched her age... at age 50 she stood up from a chair and broke her hip. This was the beginning of seeing the damage she had done to her body. She had been told for years to change her diet and exercise but of course if "we think we feel OK"... we don't listen.
Before this happened she never felt great, didn't act young like I do now at almost 49 years old.
She was on many medications because doctors must know everything...right?
After she broke her hip they put a pin in it. She found out a few years later when she was addicted to pain pills that it never healed. It was never going to heal because she had severe osteoporosis. Now lets add more medication. Within a couple years of the hip breaking she used a walker to get around and in only a few more years to come had a hospital bed in the living room and thats where she spent her years until the last she spent in a nursing home. When I tried to give her advice she thought it was vain to take care of yourself I like I did at my young age.
I am talking about my mother.
The fact that she lived to be 72 tells me internally she had a lot to work with and could have been very healthy.
So when you consider the choices of prevention....vitamins, non GMO food and simple steps to keep you operating at maximum capacity or decades of pain and suffering and virtually no quality of life....what will it be?
The good news is if you have done damage from smoking and a life of eating wrong you can reverse much of it.  Our bodies are miraculous in that they repair themselves if they are fed the right fuel.

My Diet

I decided to share my diet experience with you for 2 reasons. 1. Accountability! and 2. We can both learn from the process.

The word diet has a negative connotation almost like you are punishing yourself, but what it really means is lifestyle. Your diet is what you eat daily, when people say they are on a diet we know they are trying to lose weight, but in fact we are all always on a diet be it good or bad.

I have lost and gained the same 10 lbs many times in the last few years. This is bad because everytime you lose weight and gain it back you increase the level of fat in your fat cells. We do not gain new fat cells after about the age of 18-20 but they can hypertrophy. This is what I have done to myself in gaining the weight back over and over.
I also notice at my age (48) I do not lose weight like I used to. It is more or a struggle as we age and it is for many reasons. It can be lack of activity, muscle loss as we age, menopause, and blood sugar issues.
For me it is all of the above.
The good news is we can fix these things!
How? Get more active, workout with cardio and weights to gain some muscle back, eat right to combat blood sugar issues. Menopause is a topic for its own page!

Day 1
I am starting my new lifestyle today May 13, 2013 with you as my witness that this time I will stick it out.
My weight...I cringe as I say I weigh what I weighed giving birth to each of my children. 153 lbs.
I have gotten down to 140 a couple times and then reward myself....getting carbs back in my body and making myself crave them, so I slowly gain it back.
My goal is to lose 20 lbs and tone my body with some workouts.

I like using ideas from The South Beach Diet. It was prescribed to me by my doctor when I found I had a blood sugar problem. (Pre type 2 diabetes)
It is simple to follow and makes a lot of sense.


My breakfast today on day 1;

1 Roma Tomatoe
1 Cup Fresh Spinach
cooked in olive oil
throw in a dash of Turmeric (to fight high cholesterol and heart disease...is better than taking statins)
2 natural farm fresh eggs
and 1 oz of Feta Cheese.

I try to get a few servings of vegetables/fruits in my breakfast. Other wise it can be hard to get 8 servings daily.

I am excited to add It Works! Greens to my lifestyle.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to go to a gym, awesome! I love going to a gym, I always workout harder when I go. I live over an hour from town so I choose to do my workouts at home for now.




My Lunch today will be:
a Chicken Breast
and a salad made with Romaine, Roma Tomotoe, Cucumber,
Black Olives, Chick Peas and Goat Cheese
Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Pepper for dressing.

Dinner
a Pork Chop cooked in the crock pot with no seasoning.
Steamed Broccoli 

snack
an Apple with peanut butter.

Don't forget to drink alot of water!

Follow the South Beach Diet Book to choose your own meals. Mine are not 100% following but I use the basic guidelines and build from there.

Day 2

Weight is 152 (down 1 lb)
Actually struggled to eat all that was on my menu yesterday. That is why I prefer The South Beach Diet,  you eat as much as YOU need. We are all different.

Today I had a crazy morning, I am sure most of you do have them most of the time. Most of my days start slow! I drank my Greens and I have to admit they taste fine and are close to having no taste at all, a bit of a citrus flavor. So they are pretty easy to add to a regimine! I also took my my Ultimate Thermal Fit and I had intended to eat and after rushing around and getting ready to head to town I got to town to realize I hadn't eaten! Need to get some bars to keep in my purse. The good news is I didn't have the shakes or an upset stomach like many thermogenic products will do even on a full stomach.

So my first meal ended up being a Turkey Reuben and a side salad of lettuce and tomatoe.
Not exactly on South Beach but my point here is to tell you what I do and see how my weight loss goes!

Lunch will be lite another salad if I am even hungry
and
Dinner will be Chicken and Spinach!

Todays workout will be a 2.5 mile interval run/walk along the river unless the rain hits.
Then it will be one of my cardio DVD's.

Kind of sore from the Jillian Michaels Kettle Bell Workout yesterday and I LIKE IT!

When I was at the restaurant in town today the lady complimented my necklace and how it matched my dress!! I went to give her a business card and only had my Wrap cards. So ....she bought a wrap from me on the spot! I have never sold anything this simple in my life!

Day 3
Today is day 3 of my diet and day 4 of my workout.
My weight was still at 152 (down 1 lb) which is terrific, a loss of 2 to 3 lbs per week is what I am looking for. I usually lose 10 to 12 lbs in 3 weeks using South Beach Diet type of dieting.

This book explains alot of why you want to eat this specific way and how to do it.



Today I am sore! But happy about it!! My workout consisted of a 2.5 mile interval run walk and it began as a struggle for 2 reasons....1. I didn't want to do it!! 2. My hamstrings were killing me!

My meals today
Breakfast consisted of
2 all natural farm eggs
with Spinach and Feta Cheese
with a dash of Turmeric

Lunch
BIG salad of Romaine
Cucumbers
Tomatoe
and Tuna
(I lied, I ended up having Minestrone soup at a restaurant!)

Dinner
Chicken
and Brocolli
 stir fried in Olive Oil!

Had my Greens in 8 oz. water before breakfast.


Day 4

Weight is 151 (down 2 lbs!!)
I have a busy day today and it's my day off from workout.

Drank my Greens in 8 oz of water. Coffee and yes I do enjoy flavored cream, but not too much!

My breakfast will be eggs with spinach and feta again, may throw in some onions and tomatoe. Can;tforget the turmeric!

I willpack a lunch because I am doing an event with my wraps etc.
Lunch will be a big salad of Romaine, Cucumber, Tomatoe, Olives, Chick Peas, Chicken and
Olive Oil  for dressing.

Haven't decided on dinner yet!!

Day 5

What a crazy and long couple of days!
Yesterday I ended up snacking on a lot of veggies for lunch and had my salad that was for lunch for my dinner.
I have noticed using the Greens daily has really curbed my appetite! Anyone who knows me knows....I like to eat!! But I am just not so hungry like I normally am.
I am not using the Thermofit because after using it for 2 days I triggered my hot flashes...yay me!
I should have known better as I am aware that anything that boosts your metabolism will heat up your body.
That being said...for men or women not in menopause I believe it would be a great product as it didn't make me all shaky and even on an empty stomach (which you aren't supposed to do) it didn't bother me at all.
I am kind of bummed I can't use it, but I will switch to using our Fat Fighter instead!

I didn't weigh myself today, got up at 4:00 with my husband and had so much to do I never thought about it. I have this issue with weighing after I eat and drink anything, so I will have to step on the scale tomorrow.

My day started with Greens and coffee and water.

Breakfast was 2 eggs, all natural farm fresh with a load of onions, spinach and tomatoes and ofcourse Turmeric.

Not sure whats for lunch or dinner yet which is very strange for me, I like to know my meals ahead of time...usually plan my life around it!!

Todays workout is Kettle Bells again. Using my Jillian Michael DVD and I can tell you it kicks butt big time!
I will also probably do a power walk as its a gorgeous day and tomorrow I have no time in my schedule for a workout.

Day 6 and 7
Long weekend out and about and I began my day with Greens and a good breakfast.....but didn't follow through the rest of the day. Ended up having some licorice and some other splurges....um Beer! So on Day 8 I am kind of starting all over!! The good news is I am still down 2 lbs!

Day 8 
Tired today after a long weekend, and of course eating junk makes you tired as well.

Todays workout will be Kettle Bells again!
Started my day with Greens and Coffee and a lot of water.
Breakfast was eggs with spinach and onion, no cheese today, need to grocery shop!

Lunch will be a salad with a mix of greens and cucumber, tomatoes, chick peas and olives. Olive oil and salt for dressing.

Not sure about dinner yet!
Dinner was chicken and brocolli. Chicken cooked on the grill and brocolli stir friend in Olive Oil.

Day 9
Didn't weigh myself,  had an early day going to work with my hubs and know I won't be eating like I should. My workout will be a 2 mile walk at Boxwood Gulch since I won't be home until late.
Breakfast : Tuna sand on Rye and Fries....we meet his clients for breakfast and I eat eggs so much I don't care for them in restaurants.

Lunch: Steak, salad, potatoes, beans, and Rhubarb Pie! I did refrain from Beer and Wine though.

Didn't even think about dinner, wasn't hungry.

Day 10

Can't believe I am still down 2 lbs. Today I can eat better and workout hard and I need both!!
I also will begin using my Fat Burner, it arrived yesterday! My plan today is to do my Kettle Bell Workout, maybe a interval run walk as well. I NEED IT!!

Today am starting my day with Greens and Coffee and lots of water.
Feeling very dehydrated today.

Breakfast will be eggs with spinach and provolone. I think I'll throw in some tomatoe and onion as well.

Lunch not sure. Ended up having a tuna melt!

Dinner Pork with a salad of Mixed Greens, Cucumber, Tomatoe, Chick Peas, Olives, and olive oil.

Day 11
Down another 1/2 lb. Loss of 2.5 so far.

Added Fat Fighters to my meals a couple days ago. These are great, you can take them up to an hour after a meal and trhey stop the absorption of some fats and carbs. I am excited about them because they help regulate blood sugar. Still using my Greens daily and will add more products soon. I like to add them one at a time so I can see how they work!



Todays breakfast was
Pulled Pork on a Tortilla

Lunch was salad with mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoe, chick peas and provolone. With Olive Oil and salt.

Dinner
Pork and potatoe salad.

Day 12

Breakfast
2 eggs, with spinach, tomotoe and onion.

Lunch: Salad mixed greens, cucumber and tomatoe

Dinner...not sure yet! Dinner ended up being nachoes and potatoe skins and beer! Not great for a diet!

Day 13
Down 3 lbs!
Was laying in bed thinking I need to take this more seriously, I awoke to another 1/2 lb gone!
So I am thinking with all my splurges and such that the fat fighters and greens are helping me lose weight.
Pretty excited about that! But after the holiday weekend I am going to get more serious about things here!

Breakfast today
2 Eggs and 3 pcs Turkey Bacon

Lunch Salad with mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoe, onion, chick peas. OliveOil and sea salt.

Dinner....not sure!

OK, so now its June 1st and I have been MIA!
Still down 3.5 lbs though!!
I can't say I have worked on my healthy eating, though some meals daily are very healthy.
I'm dealing with something on an emotional level, part of me is content with how I look for my age,
part of me wants to look better. Unfortunately when their is good food around the content part of me
chows down!!

So I'm starting over today. If I'm going to have splurges then I need to be more active!

Always start my day with 20 oz water, coffee and an 8 oz glass of Greens.

Breakfast: 2 farm fresh eggs.

My Background

Just a little about me so you understand why I have a passion for healthy ways of living.
My first job at 16 was in a health club and I spent the next 10 years very involved in the fitness industry
teaching aerobics, designing fitness routines with weights and assisting in diet and education of these things.
I have gotten away from working in gyms but I still love everything about it.
These days I don't even get to the gym because I am an hour from the nearest town where I live.
I personally have lead myself to believe I need a gym and that is why I am no longer fit.
I am going to use my blog and my new products to not only help you on your path to a healthy way
of living, I am going to use it to help myself get back in shape and on a path of wellness.

It's been very frustrating to me that I am so out of shape with my level of fitness knowledge.
I have gotten into the habit of procrastinating getting into working out at home, even though I have kettle bells, videos and all I need to do an amazing workout right in my living room. I also have an amazing place to walk, run or hike....so why don't I do it?
I am a very habitual person, most people are. I like routine and it has not been part of my routine.
They say it takes 90 days to get into a routine and stick with it. So I am beginning my routine TODAY...not tomorrow!

Today I will do a cardio workout consisting of interval run/walking for 2.5 miles.
I will explain why Cardio is so important...

We lose and gain capillaries our entire lives. If you do not do cardio vascular workouts for 4 days you begin to lose them. People who do cardio workouts often have an abundance of cappilaries and actually use more oxygen than those who do not. Pretty wildwhen you think about a room full of people and everyone uses a different amount of oxygen!

Why is this important?
The more oxygen your body uses the more you can fight off disease.
Also the more oxygen your body uses the more muscle you can build and muscle is whats metobolic
(increases your metabolism)

So in a nutshell... the more oxygen you can use = the more muscle you can build = the more fat you can burn.


Tomorrow I will do a kettle bell workout with a DVD I have.
The last time I did this I walked like a duck for 3 days! Which told me how totally out of shape I am! But I didn't keep doing it. Now that I have an audience....I don't have a choice! So thank you to those of you taking the time to read this!
